Additionally, 53% of respondents said they were very likely or somewhat likely to vote for Obama. The survey results showed a significant partisan divide: 93% of Democrats viewed Obama favorably, while only 18% of Republicans shared that sentiment.
The other former presidents included in the survey were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. Abraham Lincoln emerged as the most popular former president, with a 79% approval rating, while John F. Kennedy ranked second with 70%.
Obama ranked seventh in the list, surpassing Eisenhower, Reagan, and Truman. Notably, all other former presidents in the survey are deceased. Interestingly, in the same survey, Vice President and current Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received a 48.2% approval rating, while former president and current Republican candidate Donald Trump received 44%. A total of 1,102 adults participated in the survey.
